making it official

Last week I turned my resignation letter in to the Chief's office. My last day (or night, as it is) will be January 13.

The first few days afterwards I was a total anxiety filled stress monster, but its getting better. I have no problems with the not going to work aspect, its the lack of a paycheck that comes with that scenario that scares the shit out of me. But, I know that everything will work out. And if it doesn't, Taco Bell is always hiring. ;)

catching up... again

So much has happened since my last post. A return to Cambodia (October 2011), San Francisco to watch some hottie Giants baseball (April 2012), quicky Cozumel cruise with the daughter (April 2012), WEDDING of the daughter! (September 2012) and finally a vacation for mom and dad. We went back to Siem Reap for the third time in October, and it was definitely the best trip yet. No set plans, just a "want to do" list. We did everything that we hoped to, plus one more. We realized that it was time to make a change in life, cash it all in, and move to Siem Reap.


Crazy.

Like, we should both be committed crazy.


There's a lot that we're leaving behind. A cozy house, complete with several furry faces that will need care. Family. The daughter, whom I havent gone more than 48ish hours without talking to for her whole life, and her new husband. Financial security? So many things to consider, but I think (hope?) with planning and skype and flexibility things should work out in our favor. And if not? We're only a plane ride away... right?


I'm off to work to discuss options. more later
